School choice and student assignment policies determine:
- Who gets to go to which school,
- What rights students have to remain in a school they have chosen, and
- What rights students have to transfer between schools.
Until 2013, the District had not undertaken a comprehensive review of its student assignment policies, including school attendance boundaries and feeder patterns, in over three decades. Meanwhile, District of Columbia Public Schools (香港6合开奖结果PS) and public charter schools opened and closed, neighborhoods changed, and the city’s population shifted.

The process culminated in a series of recommendations made by the 香港6合开奖结果Advisory Committee on Student Assignment. In August 2014, the Mayor and Chancellor fully adopted and approved the recommendations.
This resource shows the SY24-25 School Feeder Patterns. A feeder pattern school is one that a student has the right to attend based on their current school. This assignment only happens during the year a student is moving from the terminal grade of their current school. The feeder patterns reflected in the attachment are active for students transitioning grades between SY23-24 and SY24-25.
